A transportation order is a formal request or instruction that triggers the execution of a transport of goods or goods from one location to another. This order contains all relevant information required to process the transport. The transport order can be issued either orally, in writing or electronically. It is the basis for planning, executing and monitoring transport.
Transport orders are usually awarded by companies or organizations that need to ship or receive goods or goods; these can be manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, retailers, logistics companies, freight forwarders, or shipping departments of companies. Depending on the company structure and requirements, transport contracts can be awarded internally or outsourced to external service providers such as freight forwarding companies, carriers or courier services.
