Picking warehouse

What is a commission warehouse?

Kommissionslager

A picking warehouse is specifically designed for processing picking orders. A picking warehouse stores goods that must later be assembled for shipping to customers or for other purposes. These warehouses are organized in such a way that they allow the individual items to be removed quickly and precisely. Picking warehouses are either located at a central location or are spread over several locations.

How does order picking work in the warehouse?

  • Removing items from storage shelves
  • Scan bar codes to update inventory
  • Transporting the items to the packing table
  • Professional packaging of the items
  • Create and apply a shipping label
  • Transport of parcels to the shipping point
  • Collection of parcels by the shipping service provider for delivery to customers
